StarCom1 was designed to be the best
motorcycle communication system money can buy filling a gap in the
market to meet the requirements and expectations of today’s biker
with state-of-the-art performance yet totally affordable.
Specifically: effective noise cancelling at high speeds; technically
advanced features enabling fully automatic hands-free operation;
interfacing latest for the latest navigation and radar technologies.
Design experience from hi-fi and
communication industries with enthusiasm for bikes produced a system
that uniquely combines rider-to-pillion, bike-to-bike, vox,
auto-volume, user-adjustable volume and balance, intelligent input
switching, stereo music, battery or bike power, phone input, and
satellite navigation/radar interfaces.
Innovative design produced a multi-stage precision active
noise filtering system that removes background and wind noise without
degrading natural speech clarity. High performance speakers
(CD-quality) and a bespoke microphone voice only sensitivity.
Mini connections techniques using
silicon rubber provide waterproof, safety release and lightweight
connectors ideally suited to the bike environment.
The electronics senses background
noise levels, automatically adjusting the volume to compensate. Input
sources have priorities; incoming phone calls automatically mute the
music input for call durations.
Electronic miniaturisation enables the
design to fit into a small cosmetically appealing aluminium-extruded
case, highly resilient to electrical, moisture and mechanical abuse.
Conformal coating is used to waterproof the electronics.
Built in the UK to ISO-9000-2000 and
IPC610 workmanship standards using state-of-the-art (environmentally
friendly) assembly equipment ensuring high levels of consistency and
reliability.
Sales
have reflected the design achievement: fuelled by word-of-mouth,
Internet forums and bike clubs, sales have mushroomed beyond
forecasts. Many clubs have tested StarCom1 and recommended it above
all; with approvals from BMW, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Harley clubs, many

Buying StarCom1 is made simple because we
include all you need in a kit.
To choose your ideal StarCom system begin by selecting
between KIT A, B, C, D or F. Each kit contains the StarCom1, stereo music
lead, fitting kit including weatherproof connector fixings, dc power cable
and fitting, and 1 or 2 (KIT-B) headsets and extension lead. To expand the
system, just add the accessories you require for your complete
configuration.
Step 1: Select a KIT
StarCom1
Kit-A
Sole rider: this includes
all that's required for a sole rider system. Simple, that's it. This includes
starcom and fitting kit, plus 1 helmet kit all the cables, DC lead and fitting
kit to power the unit from the bike and even a music lead.
StarCom1 Kit-B
Rider pillion: this
includes all that's required for a rider pillion system. Simple, that's it. This
includes starcom and fitting kit, plus 2 helmet kits all the cables, DC lead and
fitting kit to power the unit from the bike and even a music lead.
StarCom1 Kit-C/D/F
Bike to Bike: these
include all that's required for a bike system to communicate with another bike
system. Simple, that's it. This includes starcom and fitting kit, a two-way
radio and cable, PTT (push to talk switch) plus 1 helmet kits all the
cables, DC lead and fitting kit to power the unit from the bike and even a music
lead. For Bike to Bike and
rider pillion just add a helmet kit SH-004 or SH-006 to kits C/D or F
Step 2: Select the headsets
Once the base Kit is
selected: Specify the helmet kit types required; full face, open face or
earplug/phone style. For flip-front helmets any kit will work, it’s your
preference, bud or boom mic
Step 3: Select the accessories
To add a mobile/cell phone just add a phone adaptor kit see
PHO-01 to any kit. To add a radar or sat nav system is just a case of plugging
in, starcom1 requires a 3.5mm jack plug input. We of course supply many optional extras and can supply systems
to suit all requirements. Our price list makes this as easy as possible, but
please contact Tecstar or a dealer to discuss your requirements. We supply a
range of mobile phone adaptors, please specify you phone model number.
