BTM-02 StarCom1 Bluetooth Module

BTM-02 is the latest Stereo module designed to connect to virtually any bluetooth phone, music player or Sat Nav
Including smart phone/iPhones it automatically switches between stereo music (A2DP) and phone as required,
answers call and generates a ring tone to the headset.

The Starcom1 bluetooth module is designed to allow cordless and automatic operation of bluetooth compatible mobile phones with the StarCom1 unit.
Bluetooth is a short- range wireless communication technology. It allows wireless connections between Bluetooth devices such as cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDA), desktop and notebooks computers, input-output devices (mouse, keyboards, printers), home appliances. Bluetooth refers to a worldwide standard designed to operate in the internationally recognized ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band. Within the ISM band (2.4Ghz - 2.48Ghz) Bluetooth transmissions hop between 79 separate frequencies 1,600 times every second, and with a communication range of about 10 meters (class II).

Power Cable Installation
The unit requires a 12V vehicle supply it has a built-in voltage regulator, reverse input protection and fuse, so that it is safe to use directly from a vehicle’s switched supply. A power cable is supplied along with an in-line fuse and fitting kit. The 12V supply must be ignition switched, so that the BTM-02 supply is off when the vehicle ignition is OFF or else the vehicle battery may be drained. The Jack plug cable must be plugged into the Starcom, this provides the 0V connection.

Connection to ADVANCE
If the StarCom 12V supply is an ignition switched supply then the BTM-02 12V connection can be made by splicing into the StarCom power cable.

If the StarCom is connected to the battery directly then the BTM-02 module must be connected to a switched supply

Connection to DIGITAL
The StarCom1 DIGITAL provides a 12V switched output. Plug the BTM-02 power lead  directly into this supply.

Connection type
Phone connection
For Bluetooth connections with phones and sat navs, use the single Jack connection lead supplied, this connection leaves the music input free for a stereo music connection. The Bluetooth Connection will then mute the music input when active

Stereo Music & Phone connection
For Stereo Bluetooth connections to music devices, phones with music players or sat navs with music player, use the twin Jack connection lead supplied. This connection uses both the phone input and the Stereo audio input. (Note. Vox muting of the music can not be used with this connection as the incoming speech comes via the audio input).
